Maxwell Freight Services has marked its 40th anniversary with a new Euro-6 DAF XF 510 FTP Super Space Cab, the first Euro-6 model in the fleet.
Adored in the original 1970s livery, a further three identical-spec XFs are on order and due for delivery in January 2016.
The latest 510bhp flagship unit is joined by two CF 330 FAS Space Cab 6x2 rigids. All of the company’s DAF vehicles are supplied by local DAF dealer, TBF Thompson, with whom a strong bond has existed for almost 20 years.
“It’s all about the service support,” said company director Tommy Maxwell, “andDAF has given us first class care from day one. Back in September 1975, DAF was the only manufacturer to give my father finance on his first truck.”
Forty years on and the general haulage and groupage specialist has acknowledged the milestone with a specially commissioned paint-job in the company’s original livery.
“We wanted something special to commemorate our 40th birthday,” said company director Terry Maxwell, “and we’re chuffed with the brilliant artwork. The truck is superb, but it’s the dealer support that’s the crucial part. Today, TBF Thompson has enhanced the relationship. We receive great service from across the DAF network in the UK, but I view TBF Thompson as a real partner in our business locally. It’s the personable approach that makes everything so much easier – the staff on the parts and service desks, the DAF technicians, we’re known to everyone – and it all makes for a great rapport.”
Maxwell Freight Services provides storage,, warehousing and distribution services from its 14-acre site in Crumlin. A purpose-built, state-of-the-art, 9,000 sq ft workshop facility allows Maxwell to perform maintenance duties for its own fleet and for other local hauliers, too.
